Christina Lake Cannabis saves $200K in labor and doubles QC speed

2x
QC and QA speed, same crew
~$200,000
saved per year
+50%
harvest volume absorbed

The challenge

In 2025, Christina Lake Cannabis - a producer in British Columbia - increased harvest volume by more than 50 percent, and the team needed to move product through post-harvest just as fast. Quality control and quality assurance quickly became the slowdown: trimming moved faster than inspection, bags of finished flower began to stack up, and the backlog added stress on staff and slowed packaging.

What Marvel changed

Christina Lake added Marvel directly after machine trimming. All trimmed flower now runs through Marvel, where each flower is checked and sorted into clear groups: flower ready to package, micro flower, flower with defects, and flower that needs more trimming. Inspection stopped being the bottleneck because inspection stopped being manual.

The results

  • 2x faster QC and QA with the same crew
  • About $200,000 per year saved in labor costs
  • QC and QA delays removed from the process
  • More consistent quality in every bag

"Doubled the QC capacity per day without adding any additional labour."
