The challenge

A large-scale producer ran post-harvest the way most do at volume: several tandem, medium-size trimming lines with more than half a dozen operators, followed by more than 30 hand trimmers at tables finishing the job. Expensive, labor-intensive, and operationally complex to scale.

What Marvel changed

The operation implemented Intelligent Trimming - AI-driven inspection with an immediate closed-loop feedback. T-Zero completes the first-pass trim; Marvel AI GEN 3 inspects and grades every trimmed flower, then separates product into clear outcomes: bag-ready flower, A-grade flower needing a quick two-snip QC, flower requiring additional trimming - rerouted back to T-Zero with optimized, flower-specific settings - and small flower. Every flower gets the treatment its condition calls for, automatically.

The results

  • 76% reduction in labor costs - $1,250,000 per year
  • 30% increase in trimming throughput
  • Consistent quality across batches through standardized grading and routing

"Yesterday, we only had 8 people in the room doing hand trimming and they finished way early. And today they didn't even have anyone come in."

This is Intelligent Trimming end to end: the trim line adjusted from real grading data instead of set-and-hope, with every flower routed to its optimal next step.
